As part of GRCB, GLOBAL INFRASTRUCTURE & SERVICE DELIVERY is the organization which runs, builds and maintains the Bank's IT infrastructure. It is a £400M organization with 1700 people and accountable for the delivery of key outsourced services.
A Network Engineer is responsible for the design, solutioning, integration, implement changes and supporting the Network LAN/WAN/MAN infrastructure layer for the enterprise.
Network Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the standards, policy, security, integrity and stability of the production data network is maintained and new solutions are fit for purpose.
Network Infrastructure covers components such as MPLS circuits, routers, switches, load-balancers, DNS, firewalls, Voice/VOIP/PBX, WAN optimisation, NTP, Routing protocols, multicast, QOS, etc. This is not an exhaustive list but is intended to demonstrate the complexity and range of components that make up the Infrastructure Portfolio.
The Network Support Engineer will provide high level support (3rd line) for complex, business critical incidents. They will require a deep knowledge in Data Network technologies (including Cisco & Juniper) and a broad knowledge many other components.
